I’m a fan of Luna so this is a hard review to write. I think she just put a lot of elements in this book that didn’t fit together for me.Sawyer being randomly clairvoyant for just one scene in the book felt like a sad plot device. It didn’t make sense to put a supernatural spin in a series about a security company.The whole over the top story line of Ky and his/her weirdly “family is everything” family. What the did to Ky made no sense and the plot was so complicated and drawn out it couldn’t live up to the long drawn out telling.Ky’s male and female side didn’t work for me. I don’t feel like I understood, or wanted to understand his/her struggle. The character didn’t work for me.I kept getting Sawyer and Jackson mixed up. Probably a personal problem but The name Jackson felt like it fit Sawyers character better and I constantly had to stop and remind myself which character was which.I was over the book at 50% but I didn’t want to give up on one of my favorite authors. But in the end this book was a grind and I gave up. I’m not sure I’ll read another book in this series as they haven’t been my favorite. I hope the author goes back to writing Daddy Kink which I think was her best work. She’s got a kinky side and I’d like to see her write a book where he kink was the focus, I think that’d be an amazing book. There are about 17 different plots to this {quite extensively long} story, but somehow Luna David manages to keep them from running roughshod all over each other.IDK if Sawyer’s clairvoyance is mentioned before in this series, but I certainly hope it was. There just isn’t enough time, effort, or energy put in for it to be believable. And to touch on Kyler having similar “feelings” but then never elaborate … it almost felt like a flimsy plot device. I liked what it ๐ค๐ฐ๐ถ๐ญ๐ฅ ๐ฉ๐ข๐ท๐ฆ ๐ฃ๐ฆ๐ค๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ฆ, but not what it was.Ok, so I totally get that Ky’s family missed him dreadfully and hated that they’d never met and/or got to be there for him as he grew up. But {even for "๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ข๐๐ก๐ฎ" style of family they are} …. seriously, they’re a bit too much. Complete fantasy. Now, of course I loved them; because don’t we ๐๐๐ wish we had a huge {filthy rich and insanely loyal}, loving, unequivocally accepting family. ๐คI love how Luna wrote Kyler’s gender fluidity.
